In the Magnesia region there are many religious monuments of all ages. (Early Christian, Byzantine and Post-Byzantine) They were built from the 5th to the 19th century AD. century. Most survivors today are of the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries.

Monastery of SAINT Triadas Gatzeas

It was built in 1816 on a site dominated by the Pagasitic, on the ruins of an old castle. It operated until 1963 and then was deserted until 1989. Today it is a subsidiary of Mount Athos and the Great Lavra.

Monastery of AGIOS GERASIMOS MAKRINITSA

It was built in 1795 and completed in 1806. Today it is a women's monastery.

Monastery of SAINT ATHANASIOS LAFKOS

It was built by the Municipality of Zipaniotis in 1795 at the expense of Captain Sergius Basdekis. There are inner and outer sculptures of the Milio. Around the cathedral in the form of a fortress are the auxiliary spaces of the monastery and the cells. It is celebrated on May 2nd.

Monastery of AGIOU IOANNI BYZITSA

It is located in the center of Vizitsa. Date of construction of the catholicon in 1797. Work by the Zipaniotis Municipality It is a three-aisled basilica with a dome. At the SW end of the monastery there is a building that housed the cells. It celebrates on August 29.

Monastery of SAINT LAVRENTIOU

It was built in the village of the same name in the 11th century or in 1378 by Saint Laurentius in honor of the archdiocese of Lavrentius who martyred Rome in 258. It was a Crusader monastery. It has a cross-domed temple with built-in slabs and columns from another ancient Greek temple. It also has a solar calendar on its west side.
